Bacon Cheeseburger Sloppy Joes

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 pound lean ground beef

  • 10 slices of bacon

  • 1/2 small yellow or white onion, diced

  • 3 tbsp ketchup

  • 1 tsp yellow mustard

  • 1 1/2 tbsp worcestershire sauce

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp pepper

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

  • 1/2 cup beef broth

  • 8 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded

  • Brioche hamburger buns

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Add ground beef to large cast iron skillet and brown until about half has a deep crust.

  • Remove beef and drain the fat. Add bacon and cook until crispy, remove and crumble.

  • Add onion to pan and cook for 4 minutes, until brown.

  • Add beef back in to pan.

  • Mix beef broth and cornstarch together. Add ketchup, mustard, worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and beef broth mixture into the pan.

  • Cook until there is only a small amount of liquid remaining, about 3-5 minutes.

  • Add bacon back to pan and stir.

  • Turn off heat. Add cheddar cheese and fold into meat until melted.

  • Serve on toasted brioche buns.
